FarrPoint to advise Scottish Government on total broadband coverage

Independent specialists in Telecoms and Information Technology, FarrPoint has been appointed to advise the Scottish Government on the planning and rollout of it’s Digital Infrastructure Action Plan. 

The initiative was announced by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon at the last election and will include the Reaching 100% Superfast Broadband Coverage Programme (R100) by March 2021. 

FarrPoint brings specialist broadband and infrastructure expertise to the project, having worked across the UK on connectivity projects with local and central government and enterprise agencies.. CEO and co-founder Dr Andrew Muir will lead the FarrPoint team, with support from infrastructure and connectivity experts from across the wider broadband team at FarrPoint. 

FarrPoint’s Andrew Muir said: “The R100 programme is a crucial part of the Government’s vision for ensuring that Scotland’s digital infrastructure is among the best in the world. We are delighted to have been appointed and to be able to build on our previous work with the Scottish Government in the superfast broadband space.”
