European Championships
Glasgow 2018
The Brief
In the summer of 2018 Europe’s top athletes will compete in the inaugural European Championships – an exciting new multi-sport event bringing together some of the continent’s leading sports. The event will be held across multiple sites across Glasgow and Berlin and aims to achieve a proportional, low cost and efficient delivery and operational model making extensive use of existing competition and non-competition venues and facilities in the dual host cities. This should be a model which is sustainable and replicable for the future.
Technology represents a critical dependency for the 2018 European Championships throughout all phases of the lifecycle, from planning through to delivery, operations and dissolution.
FarrPoint has been appointed as technical advisers to assist the organising body in the specification and sourcing of all communication and integration technologies required to support this major event.
Our Process
FarrPoint deployed a team of consultants to capture all voice, data and video requirements, including that to support the feed of live broadcast across venues. This was captured and developed into suitable tender documentation to take to the market with FarrPoint providing support throughout the competitive procurement process to ensure delivery to match requirements.
Results
As a result of FarrPoint's support to this major event, the most cost effective and robust technical solution will be deployed across the event locations that will ensure that all communications between and within venues is maintained as well as allowing distribution of broadcast video to millions of external viewers worldwide.
